Sandi Amoils, M.D., Medical Director

Dr. Sandi Amoils is the co-Medical Director of the Alliance Institute, together with her husband, Dr. Steve Amoils.
Sandi was born and raised in South Africa. She attended medical school in Johannesburg where she also met Steve. She did further training as a physician in South Africa, London and the United States.

While in medical school, she also studied techniques of naturopathy and osteopathy and was involved in research on the local African healing system and meditation. Following medical school she traveled extensively around the world with Steve and studied acupuncture in Japan and other healing techniques in many cultures. She also studied acupuncture under Dr. Joe Helms through the UCLA Medical Acupuncture Program.

Sandi completed her Family Practice residency at the University of Cincinnati, where she served as Chief Resident. She worked in a Family Practice group in Cincinnati prior to founding the Alliance Institute with Steve.

At the Institute she has pursued her passion of providing credible Integrative Medicine service to her patients, co-workers and colleagues.

Dr. Amoils is the founding President of the Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture. She serves on the Boards of the Lindner Center of Hope and The Wellness Community. She travels regularly to South Africa to work in the charitable organization” H.O.P.E.” (founded by her daughter and friends) for children affected by the AIDS epidemic in a rural village.

Her hobbies include cooking, gardening, cycling and traveling. She relishes time spent with her husband, daughters, friends and loving dogs.
