I want to share with you our experience with the wonderful staff at the Alliance Institute for Integrative Medicine. Our son, Doug, is 17 years old, with a severe form of cerebral palsy. He is non-verbal and non-ambulatory.
Traditional western medicine manages his care – we’re very pleased! However, there are many areas of his care needs that seem to neither improve nor go away. Since cerebral palsy is a result of oxygen deprivation to the brain and neurological damage results, it seemed logical to me to treat Doug’s condition (with fewest side effects) at the root of the problem – the nerves.
When we first went to see Drs. Steve and Sandi Amoils we really didn’t know what to expect. None of us ever aimed to “cure” the cerebral palsy, but we all hoped to better Doug’s comfort level, range of motion, circulation, etc.
We were pleasantly surprised by results we hadn’t even considered! After the third week of acupuncture, our non-verbal son “spoke” an entire sentence! It has not happened again, but the look on his face and mine was worth more than anything! The hope it represented! When his energy was re-routed – it just fell out of his mouth as clearly as if you or I had said “Hi mom – how are ya?”
Needless to say, we were “hooked” on acupuncture and through the Alliance Institute’s ACE Healing Sessions (acupuncture, chiropractic and energy) our son experiences realignment, renewed blood flow – his ears and fingers are red when we leave. He is totally exhausted when we get to the car and he is calmer all evening; he is usually easily over stimulated.

I am a mother of a child with multiple disabilities. My son’s name is Taylor. Taylor was eight years old before he was able to walk independently. In October of 1999, Taylor had bi-lateral surgery on his feet that left him unable to bear weight, walk and in much pain for several months post surgery. After numerous orthopedic, neurology and internal medicine appointments, we were left with no answers and no direction for treatment.
At this point, I contacted the Alliance Institute for Integrative Medicine (AIIM). With two visits consisting of acupuncture and energy medicine, my son was able to stand for the first time without pain in over a year.

I had a mastectomy and reconstruction of my left breast. In the following months, the feeling came back in most of my arm and breast. There was a section about 6 to 7” by 3” wide, in which the feeling never returned. This had not changed in two years.
I had an Ace Healing session (acupuncture, chiropractic and energy) at the Alliance Institute. The next day, the area under my arm started to itch. It itched for 3 to 4 days. When the itching stopped, I realized that the feeling had returned to my arm.
