About 8 years ago, my daughter began having headaches. Stephanie was 15 years old and began complaining about her head hurting. Of course, we took her to our family doctor and did everything we were told to do, but the headaches wouldn't go away. We were referred to specialists, such as eye doctors, ENT's, neurologists and endured test after test, including x-rays and MRI's. We finally saw the head of Neurology at our local children's hospital and went through it all over again. We were to the point where she was so heavily medicated, that she could hardly endure a full day of school and all we had to show for all of the doctors visits, was a shoebox full of prescription bottles that didn't work. They finally hospitalized her for a week to give her intravenous treatments, which resulted in the onslaught of severe vomitting. After 11 treatments, they finally sent her home with new medication, some of which was for adult use and has since been proven unsafe for adolescents. My beautiful, bubbly, smart daughter became a shell of her former self. She gave up soccer, track and drama club because the pain was so bad. This resulted with her indifference to her academics and unable to be with her sports teams, she began hanging out with the wrong crowd. As for her parents, we endured a year of suffering along with her.
Then one day, I received a phone call from a friend, who said she worked at an office that specialized in integrative medicine and pain relief and she wondered if we were interested. We jumped at the chance and were given an appointment with Dr. Steve Amoils, at The Alliance Institute for Integrative Medicine. At the conclusion of our first consultation, he told us that he had a healing plan for her. First, we had to wean her off of her old meds and then we began our regular visits to the office. Through a series of medication, chiropractic, acupuncture and energy healing, Stephanie slowly started to emerge. When she began, she was only into wearing dark make up and clothing, which was a true sign of her rebellious behavior that had started with the headaches. The patience, compassion, time and help from all of the staff was evident in every aspect of her treatment. She developed a wonderful rapport with her doctors and was able to confide in them, knowing that they would understand. After about a year, we had our daughter back. Stephanie continued to see them periodically and still will stop in for a treatment, just to feel better overall. She is completely free of headaches and does not take any medication. She has since graduated from college with a bachelors degree in nursing and currently working in a high risk cardiology unit. A very stressful job that years ago she would not have been able to handle. I thank God everyday for giving us these doctors who, I believe, healed her body, mind and soul!

I began having sensations across my forehead. Within a week, I was having severe throbbing pain. Over the next ten months, I saw two specialists; had two MRI’s and 10 different prescriptions to relieve the pain. The pain went away for maybe a day or two. It was very severe and was interfering with my life. All I did was go to work for a few hours and come home and go to bed.

I've had migraine headaches for many years. But with recent severe stress in my life, the headaches became constant. Although I originally came to the center because of back pain, the Alliance Institute therapies also relieved the headache pain and helped me handle the stress. It's been wonderful.

I am a 36 year old female who has experienced headaches since elementary school. My headaches have been so severe that I would often end up in bed with ice packs for the rest of the day. My life seemed to revolve around the severity of my headaches each day.
